Family Support
The Aboriginal Family Support Program is funded by the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD) with a focus on supporting families in their engagements with MCFD and to provide referrals to help parents strengthen their families and improve their overall well-being.

The Aboriginal Family Support team actively responds to reports from the MCFD regarding community members. The team advocates for fair treatment, ensure that members rights, cultural identity, and family integrity remain central in every decision. The team connects members with essential services by providing referrals to the Parent Legal Centre, counsellors for emotional well-being, and family camps to strengthen relationships.
The team hosts a community engagement initiative called the "Return to the Home Fire", this event takes place biennial (every two years) with the support of the Office of the Wet'suwet'en (OW), Anuk Nu'At'en Ba'glgh' iyi z'ilhdic Program (ANABIP). Focused on reuniting children in care with their families and cultural roots.
