Food Security
The Food Security Program brings people together, facilitates cross-cultural sharing, improving access to healthy food sources, and providing the fuel needed to ensure that everyone can take part in community recreational opportunities.

Community Garden
The community garden in Witset is expanding each year, promoting awareness and interest in food production, connecting youth and elders together, and teaching members traditional agricultural practices.

HydroPonic Farm
HydroPonic farming can grow plants without soil by using nutrient-rich water solutions and controlled environments to produce greens, herbs, and vegetables year-round for the community to enjoy.

Food Workshops
Food workshops bring the community together from preserving salmon, moose, and berries, to learning how to make homemade meals, sauces, and baked goods with cultural integration and traditional teachings.
The Food Security Department is committed to strengthening community connection, sustainability, and cultural preservation through creating strong relationships, environmentally responsible practices for long-term food security, and honouring Wet'suwet'en traditions by integrating cultural knowledge into food programs. Food Security also promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being through nutrition and community support, collaborating with partners and community members to achieve shared food security goals.
